About

Welcome! I am Professor of educational leadership in the Department of Educational Policy, Research, and Administration (EPRA), and Director of Program Evaluation Research and Practice for the Center for Educational Assessment at UMass Amherst.

I teach graduate courses in social network analysis research methods, program evaluation, instructional design, and foundations of education, and coordinate the UMass Program Evaluation Practice Certificate Program. I serve on the editorial board of the American Journal of Evaluation, the journal Evaluation and Program Planning, the SAGE Encyclopedia of Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation, and the SAGE Encyclopedia of Research Design.

As Co-PI for CSforALLSpringfield, a National Science Foundation Research-Practitioner Partnership, I work with a team to advance and study the advancements of equitable access to culturally relevant and responsive computer science and digital literacy innovations in a large urban school district.

My mission is to work in partnership with organizational leaders, policy makers, and practitioners at local, regional, and global levels to design, implement and evaluate programs intended to advance excellence and equity in educational settings, and to support the contribution of evaluation to the generation of theory and knowledge about effective human action.
