All members of the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies are encouraged to participate to the blog. Posts will be accepted from affiliated departments in the Five-College area, and will be considered after those of the department.
Submissions by undergraduate majors and minors will undergo a peer-reviewing process before being published on the blog.
All posts should be 1,000-1,500 words and under, unless directed otherwise by a professor, or by a special edition guideline.
Keep in mind that you are writing for a general audience, so make your work as comprehensible and thorough as possible. Proofread your entry and avoid lengthy, convoluted sentences that would obscure the meaning of much-needed far-reaching scholarship.
Blog posts should cover every and any area of the field of Black Studies. There will be special editions which will come with less broad guidelines as to the topic (e.g. a 1968-2018 anniversary of Black Studies in Amherst guideline would imply a focus on 1968…)
