Scholarships

Department of Geoscience scholarships applications are now open. We are asking all students to apply for scholarship awards in the Academic Works online application system (https://umass.academicworks.com) using your NetID and password to log in.

  1. Log into AcademicWorks at https://umass.academicworks.com using your NetID and password.
  2. Fill out and submit the General Application and the College of Natural Sciences Application (this will apply you automatically if you are qualified to the Randolph Bromery and the Garrett G. Hollands scholarships in Geosciences, and other awards in the College of Natural Sciences)
  3. Under “Other Recommended Opportunities” you will find applications for some of the following Geosciences scholarships (depending on whether your major is Geology-Earth Systems or Geography):
  • Gloria Radke Memorial Fund – supports students conducting geology field research.
  • Andrew D. Wise Memorial Endowment Fund – supports geography students with costs associated with research, conferences, or research supplies.
  • Geography Alumni Award – supports geography student research.
  • H.T.U. Smith Memorial Geology Fund – supports geology students doing summer field work or research.
  • Elinor Fierman Memorial Fund – supports field work, research, or other activities for students studying geology.
  • Leo M. Hall Memorial Fund – supports students geological field work
