The goal of the UMASS Amherst Student Chapter of INFORMS (Institute for  Operations Research and the Management Sciences) is to encourage interest in the field of operations research and the management sciences and to provide a means of communication between people having interest in the management sciences and operations research. Members of the chapter are undergraduate and graduate students from various schools and departments including: the Isenberg School of Management, the College of Engineering, the Department of Resource Economics, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.  The first major activity of the student chapter is a speaker series. Among the other activities that are planned for the coming year are field trips, student presentations of research, as well as social activities.

The UMass INFORMS Chapter is recognized as a Graduate Student Organization (GSO). We are very thankful for the financial support of our student events through the Graduate Student Senate (GSS). More information on the GSS can be found on GSS Website.

Undergrads and graduate students from all departments who are interested in OR/MS are welcome to attend and join in future meetings and activities. This chapter is truly interdisciplinary!
