The goal of the UMASS Amherst Student Chapter of INFORMS (Institute for  Operations Research and the Management Sciences) is to encourage interest in the field of operations research and the management sciences as well as to provide a means of communication between many areas of knowledge that benefit from OR/MS.

Members of the Chapter are undergraduate and graduate students from various schools and departments including the Isenberg School of Management, the College of Engineering, and the College of Information & Computer Sciences. The Chapter is proud to work under the advisory of Dr. Anna Nagurney, the Eugene M. Isenberg Chair in Integrative Studies.

UMass INFORMS is a venue for collaboration, building bridges among departments as well as connecting UMass to other institutions and to the industry. A core activity of our Chapter is the Speaker Series, where renowned scholars and industry members share their experiences. Among the other activities planned for the coming year are field trips, community outreach, student presentations of research, and social activities such as game nights.

The UMass INFORMS Chapter is recognized as a Graduate Student Organization (GSO). We are very thankful for the financial support of our student events through the Graduate Student Senate.

Undergrads and graduate students from all departments are welcome to attend and join in future meetings and activities. This chapter is truly interdisciplinary!
