Dr. Nieswandt received her doctorate in 1996 from the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, Germany, in the College of Science. She also holds a M.A. (1987) in Pedagogy, Sociology, and Social Psychology from the Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany as well as a teaching license (1991) for Chemistry (grades 5 to 12) from the Ruhr University of Bochum and the Teacher Training Seminar, Bochum, Germany.

  • Issues of English language learners in science classes
  • Urban education with emphasis on science teaching and learning
