The Math 421 Final Exam is:

Tuesday, 14 December
8:00–10:00 a.m.
LGRT 219 (our usual classroom)

In case of a final exam conflict, you must provide me with written documentation from the Registrar’s Office no later than Tuesday, 1 December.

You have a final exam conflict only if there is another officially-scheduled final exam at the same time.

To see which in which course you are entitled to a final exam make-up, look at the last digit of the 5-digit class number of the other course and of Math 421. Our class number is 73992. You are entitled to a make-up for the exam in the course where that digit is higher. Thus if the other course has the last digit of the 5-digit class number 3 or higher, then you get a make-up for the final there. If the last digit of the other course’s class number is 2, the same as ours, then look at the next-to-last digit, etc.

Such documentation, signed by a representative of the Registrar, should include:

• The course whose final exam conflicts and the 5-digit class number for that course
• Contact information for the instructor of that conflicting course
• A copy of your entire final exam schedule
• Your contact information: UMass e-mail address and telephone number

Here are statistics on Exam 2 scores. (The data excludes the score for one student who did none of the homework sets.)

Earlier there was an error on the Exams page as to the Exam 2 location. The exam will be in our regular classroom, LGRT 219.

The second exam will be held in class Wednesday 1 December.
