About Me

I am the mom of 4, wife to the pastor of a local church in our community and Teach for America Alum passionate about making sure all students have access to an excellent education – every kid deserves access to the education I expect my own children to receive.

I have taught for 12 years in both Paterson, NJ and Springfield, MA. My undergrad work was in Mathematics and Social Work and my first teaching position was as an 8th grade ELA teacher.

I am currently teaching Algebra at the High School of Science and Technology which was recently named a Level 4 school. I have recently become the Department Chair and Instructional Leader which has been an exciting new adventure. I am definitely not ready to be out of the classroom, but it has been fun to work with teachers in our building to increase capacity for our students to have a teacher who believes in them and allows them to grow as mathematicians.

In my free time, I enjoy puzzling of all sorts, reading everything (from Dostoevsky to James Patterson to Carol Dweck to Dan Meyers), and spending time with my family.
