I’m a fourth year PhD student in Linguistics at UMass Amherst.
My research interests lie in syntax and semantics.
I have worked on quantifiers derived from “indeterminate” wh-words in Tamil, and how they fit in with crosslinguistic perspectives, especially from Japanese. In particular, I have worked on NPIs and (un-)conditionals in this domain.
Some of my current work is about the syntax of ‘again’ adverb placement in Hindi-Urdu and what it tells us about argument structure/object shift.
I also work with Sakshi Bhatia on sluicing in Hindi-Urdu.
