“Sex differences in aging trajectories of common marmosets (Callithrix jacchus): cognition, motor function, stress reactivity and behavior.”

Sex differences in cognitive aging is not well-studied but is critical to understand due to the higher prevalence of Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias among women. Nonhuman primate models of cognition are valuable because they facilitate longitudinal studies across aging. In this seminar, we report sex differences in trajectories of cognitive aging in marmoset monkeys (Callithrix jacchus) from a comrephensive longitudinal study that also includes assessments of motor competency, stress reactivity and behavior.
