Echo360 Lecture Capture Information and Q&A Session
Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Please join us for a discussion of Echo360, the lecture capture system at Mass Amherst. We’ll take a look at the options for capturing your lectures, integrating with your learning management system, how to request the service, where to get support, and more.

 

Getting Started with JMP
Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This hands-on workshop will cover:JMP basics – menus, help, navigation and the JMP interface; Data visualization with the Graph Builder: Dynamic graphing, geographic mapping, the Data Filter, Tabulate, Bubble Plot, and Scatterplots; Basic data analysis using Distribution, Fit Y by X, and Fit Model •JMP tips and tricks (saving work, sharing your work, getting data into JMP); Resources for learning and teaching with JMP (Learning Library, webinars, books with JMP, teaching modules, calculators). New features in JMP 12 and the upcoming JMP 13 Taught by Mia Stephens from JMP.

 

Data Analysis and Modeling with JMP
Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Data analysis: Hypothesis Testing, confidence intervals, ANOVA; Regression analysis: linear regression and logistic regression; Multivariate statistics; Advanced Modeling in JMP Pro – data mining and model selection tools, generalized regression; Integration with SAS, R, MATLAB and Excel; Other analysis options upon request (time series, mixed models, and requested topics)

Join us for a short presentation and discussion of the new and improved features of Moodle 3.0.

 

Building A New Moodle Course
Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of building a course Web site using Moodle. Instructors will be introduced to basic navigation, learn how to configure course settings, and practice adding content and activities to a Moodle course. This workshop does not cover the Moodle gradebook but provides a good foundation for further exploration. NOTE: In-depth discussions of grading and individual Moodle activities are outside the scope of this workshop. PREREQUISITE: Must be a teacher or a TA with course-designer access in Moodle.

 

Moodle Gradebook Clinics
Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This clinic is for instructors who have experience using Moodle, and plan to use the Moodle Grade Book. Attendees will have the opportunity to work on improving and refining an existing Grade Book for their Moodle course. NOTE: Attendees must bring a syllabus or have a grading scheme with them. PREREQUISITE: Must be a teacher or a TA with TA Manage Gradebook role in a current Moodle course.

In this hands-on workshop we will use Camtasia. We will also discuss the different ways screencasting is being used to enhance classroom and online instruction.

 

Managing Student Video Projects User Group
Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Are your students producing videos for class projects? Join us for a discussion of best practices for successful student video workflow: from shooting and editing, to sharing and providing feedback.
