About

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I’m also a proud member of the Commonwealth Honors College faculty.

SFO-491aI work mostly on syntactic theory and the acquisition of syntax in 2- to 5-year old children.

Before coming to UMass, I studied at MIT’s Department of Linguistics and Philosophy, where I completed my dissertation under the supervision of David Pesetsky. I also worked with Ken Wexler at the Wexler ab/Normal Language Lab. Before that, I studied at the Linguistics Department at Harvard University, where my undergraduate advisor was Cedric Boeckx.
