Teaching in All Types of Classrooms Situation Room with the Women in Transportation Society

You’ve asked and we’ve listened- the teaching assistant situation room is being offered again!

Being a teaching assistant is quite common in graduate school, but rarely do you receive some sort of training in how to effectively teach in a discussion, lab, or lecture setting. This can inherently lead to anxiety and difficulties when in awkward or challenging situations surrounded by students.

If you would like to prepare for your future TA experience, learn some basic teaching pedagogy for different classrooms, and pick up on some successful strategies for dealing with struggles while teaching- please join GWIS and the Women in Transportation Science (WTS) for our “Teaching in All Types of Classrooms” Situation Room.

For this event, we need volunteers to participate in a 5-minute situation! If you would like to work on your teaching skills, or address a specific problem, please check the box in the registration form! All volunteers receive instantaneous feedback from the expert panelists as well as written feedback from the audience.
