  1. The Forever Tango event at the fine arts center was amazing. The costumes, music, excitement and abilities of the dancers were mind blowing. One of the best dance performances I’ve ever seen.

  2. the show was wonderfully exciting, the musicians and dancers were superb! We enjoyed every minute of the performance

  3. Forever Tango was wonderful! I knew to expect exciting and powerful dancing..what I didn’t know about the show..is how fantastic the music/orchestra would be! I have never heard accordians played so beautifully!! Bravo!! Thank-you for a wonderful show.

  4. What a hot performance! Wow! The FAC brought another amazing performance to the Valley.

  5. I found the event VERY disappointing. They were flashy but icey cold performers. The singer seemed to think he was in Vegas. Tango is earthy, intimate, working class and it’s soulful. This performance was pure showmanship with no soul. The best part was the music–the dancers ended up being a distraction.

  6. I didn’t love the singer, but really enjoyed the dancing and the orchestra. Thanks for bringing this show to The Valley!

  7. Forever Tango was a spectacular tango show! The women were all beautiful and their dresses stunning. The male dancers were manly and always in perfect control. Together they created seductive, sizziling tango. I have never seen such polished, professional tango dancers- not even in Buenos Aires! The orchestra was superb, especially the piano player and the bandoneon players. I really enjoyed the show!

  8. Forever Tango was even more amazing than I expected. The dancing was stunning, but the musicians were what made the show a standout.

  9. All I can say is WOW! The acrobatic moves were impressive and even more so the traditional, smooth moves that actually felt like something I could do. Reminded me to have more fun even while struggling with learning the form. Motivated me to want to start dancing Tango again after a necessary break due schedule challenges.

  10. The show was fantastic. The musicians, along with the dancers, made the evening simply unforgettable! Bring them back!

  11. The show was spectacular! An outstanding performance, great band, and extremely entertaining. Very diverse as far as movement from each dancer, male and female, and admire the talent brought on stage. BRILLIANT!

  12. Well, I may be the only nay-sayer…but it felt like a TV Show…There are only so many moves that one can do going back and forth on the stage and they did them well…the band was great…but I don’t love “spectacular”.

What I want from the music series is good classical music, which is being offered less and less, and great dance groups like Hubbard and Ailey. I DON’T want Chinese acrobats and multi-media extraganzas. I want “class” and depth. Put the rest in the Mullins Center.

  13. Truly spectacular! Authentic and first rate in every way. Music, dance and song. Thank you.

  14. The dancing was very good, but the music was too loud, as seems to be the case with lots of music in the FAC. It was interesting to see male dancers who looked more like the general population than like athletes. The singer added little to the performance.

  15. Terrific show! Plus first-rate musicians, something one usually doesn’;t see as backup for what essentially is a dance performance.

  16. Ah , interesting to read the responses. The consensus in the tango community was that the music and musicians were superb, the dancing a bit forced, showy, and stereotyped although some of the costumes were hot. The lighting as compared to Mariza was also a dissappointment. The stage seemed flat. The dancers were indeed trained and skilled but lacked a passion and sensuality that can spark from truly great dancers. Check out Youtube, there are many. It woudl have been nice to see someone smile or wink? The second half seemed to pick up energy and there were a few dancers I found myself favoring because of their smoothness and rapport,. Mostly the dancers seemed to really lack connection with each other and the audience and Tango is ALL about connection. Those who love this dance should indeed check out the lovely tango community of social dancers. This is a very difficult dance with a great history/ I woudld have enjoyed also having more of the history and development of the dance conveyed. But thanks for bringing this to us FAC.

  17. Although the music was excellent and spirited, the dance content of Bravo’s Forever Tango was intricate, but not inspired and not varied enough to warrant such a long evening of repeated routines. The attempt at “steamy sensuality” was neither convincing or sufficiently over-the-top to wink at the audience. Tango is sensual, often elegant, but this was Tango as tawdry, low-life, almost apache dance. The singer reminded me of either a second string Las Vegas review, or a wedding singer at a south american family bash.
This is the third Fine Arts Center performance which was poorly lighted. Do Companys bring their own lighting techs? Do they provide cues and instructions? From Section one, it is difficult to see what is going on. Or, was “dark” equal to “sexy”? –Not!

  18. I was wowed by the musicians. The passion, connection and honesty I look for in tango was there for me more in the music than the dancing. I thought the show spotlighted the flashy fast showy part of tango which is fun but I love the honest human connection that the form enables.
