Air Play

Tuesday, March 20, 2018 @ 7:00 PM

Ride the wind and dream with AIR PLAY, a modern spectacle that brings to life the very air we breathe. Flying umbrellas, larger-than-life balloons, giant kites floating over the audience, and the biggest snow globe you’ve ever seen will make you gasp in wonder and laugh until it hurts.

AIR PLAY is a circus-style adventure of two siblings journeying through a surreal land of air, transforming the ordinary into objects of uncommon beauty. Fabrics dance in the wind, balloons have a mind of their own, confetti turns into the night sky, and an enormous canopy of hovering silk forever alters the siblings’ future. The creation of husband & wife team Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, AIR PLAY merges their circus and street theater performance art with the sculptural artistry of Daniel Wurtzel. This poetic ode to childhood will enchant and electrify the young and young at heart.

  1. So much fun and laughter! I thoroughly enjoyed myself in ways I rarely do: belly laughs, amazement, and joy. Truly great!

  2. It was truly joyful to hear such unabashed laughter – in “real” time. I also love things that every age can relate to. It’s good for our community (and with the phones off)!

  3. This was an amazing show! Watching the silk fabrics float in the air was magical & relaxing !

  4. Perfection. Simple premise, flawless technique. Absolutely enchanting. I wish I could experience it all over again.

  5. What a waste of two $21.95 tickets! The 5-year old next to us was really tickled – for the first 15 minutes or so, and then even he lost interest in watching this dumb, dumb show. It might be silly and fun for small children who get a kick out of watching people repeating the same silly physical gags, over and over, but it was embarrassing to have invited an adult friend to use the other ticket! Pre-purchase info should have been much clearer that it was DEFINITELY a silly show for young children and their parents! We expected a circus-like show of far higher quality!

  6. The show was a Combination of art, music, romance, and comedy . Absolutely fabulous for people of all ages .

  7. It was a totally enchanting show, a feast for the eyes and so much fun. Loved the background music too. A delight for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.
