New Music Sources Added

RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals, Plus Full-Text Online Archive and LibraryMusicSource have been added to the collections. RIPM+Online Archive provides indexing and content analysis of writings about music and culture between 1800-1950 in periodicals from 20 countries. The added online archive component includes primary source materials. LibraryMusicSource has partial and complete scores from over 35,000 classical works. You can browse by instrument or composer, or conduct a keyword search. Scores can be downloaded or printed.

Music Database Trials

New Music Reference Work: Oxford History of Western Music

The Libraries now have the online version of the Oxford History of Western Music. Written by noted musicologist Richard Taruskin, this reference source traces the evolution of western classical music. You can browse through chapters covering 5 historical periods, or search for terms in full-text or chapter titles.

Music reference sources – new additions

The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online offers essays, images and audio clips on music and ethnomusicology from across the world. Browse or search by genre, cultural group, person, place, instrument, etc.

The Classical Scores Library contains classical scores and manuscripts from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Search or browse by genre, material type, composer, time period, instrument, etc.
