GeoScienceWorld E-Journals on Trial

The Libraries have access to the collection of 46 e-journals included in the GeoScienceWorld E-Journal Collection through November 30th. The journals are published by multiple geological societies, such as Seismological Society of America, Geological Society of London, Geological Society of America, Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society, and others.

Encyclopedia of Geography Added

The Libraries now have the Encyclopedia of Geography online from Sage Reference. You can search for terms or browse through thematic entries covering physical geography; human geography; nature and society; methods, models and GIS; history of geography; and people, organizations and movements. The 1,127 entries include graphs, images and maps, and each entry has a further readings section.

Ellis and Messina Foraminifera Catalogue

The Libraries have recently added the 2010 online edition of the Ellis and Messina Foraminifera Catalogue from Micropaleontology Press. You can search fossil micro-organisms by genus, subgenus, species, subspecies, variety, author and year, among other characteristics.

National Academy of Sciences Biographical Memoirs

The National Academy of Sciences Biographical Memoirs provides brief biographies of deceased members of the National Academy of Science, written by people who best knew their work. “These biographies provide a personal and scholarly view of the lives and work of America’s most distinguished scientists and a biographical history of science in the United States.”

U.S. Geological Survey Publications Warehouse

The USGS Publications Warehouse provides a catalog of older publications and a source for downloading newer ones. You may search for warehouse contents, or browse for maps, aerial photographs, real time data (wildfires, landslides, volcanoes and … Pintail Duck Migration), satellite imagery, software and biology publications (by U.S. region and research stations).
