Statista Trial

Statista, a database of statistics and infographics from 18,000 international sources on industries, companies and popular topics, is on trial through May 12th, 2015. You can search by keyword or browse by industry, industry reports, companies and topics. Topic examples include U.S. e-commerce sales between 2002-2014; global smart phone sales to end users, 2007-2014; annual net revenue of Amazon, 2004-2014; and gang problems in U.S. schools by type, 2011. You can download graphics and data, or imbed them in an HTML page.

New Resource on the Business of Sports

SportBusiness International provides news, reports and analysis on the international business of sport. You can perform a simple keyword search or browse reports and videos by sector (e.g. media, stadium and venue management, event bidding and awarding, etc.); publication; sport or organization.

Complete Television, Radio and Cable Industry Directory Now Available

The Libraries have added a subscription to the Complete Television, Radio and Industry Directory. It’s available in two parts:

Mintel Trends Added for Consumer Data

Our new Mintel Trends subscription provides a database of reports on shifts in consumer behavior across industries, demographics and themes. It’s available to UMass Amherst students, librarians, and faculty only through an individual account which must be set up using a UMass email address. You can browse through reports by industry, demographic or theme, or you can search by keyword.

Upgrade to Business Source Complete

The Libraries have replaced Business Source Premier with Business Source Complete from Ebsco. Business Source Complete provides abstracting and indexing for 5,121 and full text for an additional 3,820 journals and magazines, with coverage goes back to 1886. The database also includes books, case studies, faculty seminar videos, industry reports and SWOT analyses. You can search by keyword or indexed field, and you can limit your search by company, NAICs code, publication type, language, date, full-text, peer review and much more.

ReferenceUSA Is Back

We’ve re-established our subscription to ReferenceUSA, a directory of Canadian and U.S. businesses and residential white pages, as well as U.S. health care providers, job listings and internships, and new businesses. You can also search for consumer lifestyle data, such as apparel, motor vehicles, pets, sports, travel and more, with limits for name, city, and state.

Global Industries, U.S. Business Environments Added to IBISWorld

IBISWorld has two new components: Global Industry Reports and U.S. Business Environment Profiles. Coverage of financial, manufacturing, mining, retail, telecommunications and many other industries is now international in scope. Global Industry Reports include an industry definition, major players, supply chain and related industries, a glossary and additional resources. U.S. Business Environment Profiles include consumer behavior and demographic reports which affect U.S. industries.
