Bio

Eleanor Finley is a writer, speaker, municipalist, and Ph.D. candidate in anthropology. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University as well as an MA in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Formerly a Board Member at the Institute for Social Ecology (ISE), she participates in popular education and organizing projects about municipalism and direct democracy. Her writing appears in outlets such as ROAR Magazine, In These Times, and OpenDemocracy. Eleanor has been helping build Symbiosis, a network of community organizations building radical municipalism across North America.
