Overview

Rob DeConto and his research group of graduate students and postdocs study polar climate change, the role of glaciers and ice sheets in past and future sea level change, and the impacts of sea level rise on coastlines and people. Rob’s research on ice sheets and sea level rise has been highlighted on the cover of Nature, the front page of the New York Times, and on PBS NOVA. He is a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and a selected lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Rob serves on a number of national and international science boards and he is a recipient of the Tinker-Muse Prize for Science and Policy in Antarctica.

Rob is Provost Professor of Earth, Geographic, and Climate Sciences, and Director of the School of Earth & Sustainability.
