Aimee Shore

Aimee Shore graduated in December 2018 with a PhD in physics from Michigan State University. Her PhD research was in the area of psychoacoustics, which combines acoustics and the psychology of hearing.

The focus of her research was on the human auditory system’s ability to squelch, or suppress, room effect (e.g. reverberation and tonal coloration) when listening to speech in everyday room environments. While completing a Master’s degree, also at MSU, her research area was in experimental nuclear physics– specifically in helping to design a new gaseous detector for low energy reactions and in data analysis. Aimee is an alum of Smith College, having graduated in 2010 with a BA in physics.
