Suffering is Optional

“Since I’ve been out of prison, I’ve been encouraging art in my home, passing the love of art onto kids. I want the children to associate my house as a safe space and for being creative, for thinking outside the box.”

Teddy describes growing up poor with a schizophrenic father in a school system where his different learning style and love of art were not appreciated. Hustling the streets became his art until he found himself incarcerated in Concord, MA. With his options severely constrained, Teddy rediscovered his passion for art and found that others valued his talent as well. Today he encourages kids in his community to follow their artistic impulses and paint the world the want to live in.
