Meghan Armstrong armstrong@spanport.umass.edu Languages, Literatures and Cultures (Hispanic linguistics) | Research interests: I am interested in how intonation is used to convey epistemic meaning. My work deals with epistemic intonational marking in both adults and children. I am currently working on children's comprehension of intonationally-encoded epistemic meaning in Catalan and English. My recent work also deals with the role of facial gestures in the comprehension of intonational meaning. I am exploring this in typically-developing children and adolescents with high-functioning autism. | |
