RSO Budget Extension

The SGA Ways & Means Committee has had significant delays in getting budget packets to RSOs. Because of these delays, they have extended the deadline to Wednesday, February 27th at 9:00PM. If you have already completed this packet, use the extra time to double check it or go over it with a member of the CSD staff.

Senior portraits

The CSD is sponsoring senior portrait sessions next week.  So tell all your seniors to sign up for a session by going to www.ouryear.com and enter school code 147.  There is a $5 sitting fee, and of course the cost of the package you decide to buy.   I’m sure your parents will appreciate a professional photo of you in your

appointments with ECOs

We’ve had a semester to try our new system of having RSOs meet with our event consultants (ECOs) to plan your smaller events.  Now we’re ready to refine the system and have decided it will work best for everyone if we have you make an appointment.  So when you get an e-mail that you should see an ECO for your event, you still get to choose the day and time convenient for you, but now you also get to choose the ECO and you’ll be assured someone is available and ready for you.

The Resource Center welcomes Vanessa Wright to our distinguished ECO (event consultant) staff.  Vanessa has been an officer of MassPIRG for 3 years and is very knowledgeable about RSO needs.

We also welcome back Jamie, Danielle, Elyse and Kyle.

Technology Workshop Materials

I told those that attended the Technology Workshop at RSOOO that I would put some of the materials from the session online. I also thought it might be useful to others. This is a brief writeup, but it talks about using the following services with your organization.

1) Creating or getting access to an organizational/RSO e-mail address.

2) Creating mailing lists using the UMass Mailman Service.

3) Using the UDrive to store and share files amongst the members of the organization and the public.

4) Using UMass Blogs to easily create webpages for your organization.

Help Wanted – Staff Shortage

The Resource Center may be a bit crazy during the first few weeks of school because we’re short two staff.  Lizette graduated (congratulations to her) and Djade decided not to return (we wish him the best).  Rebecca is looking for two replacements, people who have RSO experience and can work on Tuesday and Thursday.  If you’re interested you should e-mail her at rsnyder@educ.umass.edu.

In the interim, you’ll see some of the staff from upstairs sitting at the reception desk.  We’ll do our best to help you, but can’t wait until we have a full staff of ECOs again.
