The CSD Business Staff have released a memo concerning spending guidelines/deadlines for the end of the semester as well as for summer. RSOs and Agencies who will be operating over the summer should read the memo in it’s entireity. Here are some highlights:
See the full memo (Summer 2008 Spending Deadlines, PDF 40KB) for additional details.

The SGA Ways & Means Committee has had significant delays in getting budget packets to RSOs. Because of these delays, they have extended the deadline to Wednesday, February 27th at 9:00PM. If you have already completed this packet, use the extra time to double check it or go over it with a member of the CSD staff.

The Resource Center may be a bit crazy during the first few weeks of school because we’re short two staff. Lizette graduated (congratulations to her) and Djade decided not to return (we wish him the best). Rebecca is looking for two replacements, people who have RSO experience and can work on Tuesday and Thursday. If you’re interested you should e-mail her at rsnyder@educ.umass.edu.
In the interim, you’ll see some of the staff from upstairs sitting at the reception desk. We’ll do our best to help you, but can’t wait until we have a full staff of ECOs again.

I sent a notice to the SR list serve yesterday about the upcoming RSO Officer Orientation workshops. (If you need to know the dates see the end of this post). In response I got some questions about whether our records are up to date. I realized that I forgot to send the Events Office an updated SR list after the December RSOOO. I’ve fixed that so they should be up to date. But feel free to e-mail me paradise@stuaf.umass.edu or call me at 545-1280 if you run into a problem.
The dates for RSOOO are:
February 2, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
February 5, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
You can sign up on the CSD web page
For a lot of student organizations, spring semester means preparing budgets to submit to the SGA Ways and Means Committee. Here is a brief overview of the process:
That’s it! Check back here or in your e-mail for dates/times for the budget workshops. If everything goes smoothly, the SGA plans to have initial budget allocations announced in April. After this, there will be a short appeals process before the full allocation goes before the senate in early May.
If you’ve got any questions, contact the Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, Yannick Brookes at waysandmeanscommittee@gmail.com.
