Inspired by the drawings, photographs, and etchings of Frank A. Waugh (1869-1943), an overlooked pioneer who promoted ideas about native planting design and the emerging field of modern ecology.
Walking this morning was treacherous with so much ice. Advised in honors in the morning. No cancellations despite the weather. Last studio of the semester with desk crits today. Students have final sheets to draw up with all their work due Wednesday at noon.
Another hard weather day, but it was so lovely to have pizza at the honors college for lunch. Wonderful to talk with folks. Huge morale boosting power, such a simple thing, too.
Dinner by Joanne Weir at the Faculty Club tonight was delightful. Alex Dechamps, two students and I enjoyed meeting not only Joanne but also the new chef. Maybe there will be a culinary garden in the future there.
