Handouts and Resources

For students: College Writing LibGuide. Online guide to support students with the library research process. Includes a list of recommended databases; how-to videos; information on proper citation and avoiding plagiarism; and how to get more help. This guide can be inserted into a SPARK classroom as a widget–contact Sarah Hutton for more information.

Reserving a library classroom: To reserve a room, email Althea, althea@library.umass.edu

In your email, provide the following information:

• Your name
• Your first choice (and an alternate or two) of date and time that you would like to reserve a computer classroom
• The regular meeting days/times of your class (e.g. MWF 9-9:50)
• Number of students in your class
• Any other information or questions you wish to provide

Setting up & using the Calipari Room

The Calipari Room will be open and cleared of students when you arrive for your session. An OIT Computer Classrooms consultant will be available to answer any
questions.  To turn on the ceiling-mounted projector, point the remote at the front of the projector and hold down the power button until you see/hear the projector switch
on.  Instructors and students should log into workstations using their own OIT NetID and password. Be sure Domain is set to UMASS.EDU. If there are problems with logins, please see the OIT consultant in Calipari or ask at the LC Desk.

If you encounter any problems while using the Calipari Room, the OIT student consultant in the room or at the LC Desk can help.

Fall Semester 2011: Welcome back!  When you start scheduling classrooms for the Fall11 semester, please be advised that the Calipari room has been renovated and is now open for use.  We look forward to inviting you into our newly revamped and updated classroom!  Also, please remember that the OIT Computer Classrooms are available to reserve for follow-up instruction.
