UCAN has provided me with the great opportunity of volunteering in the Amherst public schools. At the beginning of this school year I wasn't positive if I wanted to continue on the path of becoming a teacher and working in a school setting, but UCAN has been very beneficial. I've truly enjoyed volunteering in the schools and working with the children because it has reassured my feelings towards becoming a teacher.

UCAN has above all made me realize that volunteering in the Amherst public schools was the right thing to do. It feels so good to see students faces light up when I help them with their homework after school, and when I think about working with students who really want to learn, it makes the bike ride over to Amherst High School a lot more enjoyable.
