Welcome! December 1, 2008
Posted by sgatrust in : Uncategorized, Welcome , 1 comment so farHello everyone,
We want to welcome you to this blog, a site that we plan to keep updated frequently with the latest information about the UMass Amherst Budget and its implications on the student body. Included will be updates about the Universities priorities (from an administrative level), possible fee increases, State Budget Cuts, the FY10′ Budget allocation and proposal, and any/all information that is possible to post regarding specific budget items.
Yet the main purpose of this blog is to ensure that there is a positive and productive conversations about what the STUDENT PRIORITIES for the coming budget year are. What are we willing to see cut? What programs, departments, campus units are most beneficial and important for students and must be preserved? Do student want to see a fee increase and how can we protect students interests, educations and pocketbooks as much as possible, OR are students opposed to a fee increase that demands more from students and less from the state?
We hope this blog will provide some space for these discussions in addition to open forums, direct conversations with each other and more…
