Hello

I’ve been at the University of Massachusetts since 1999, with a joint appointment in the School of Education and the Center for Public Policy and Administration.

My new book, High Stakes Reform: The Politics of Educational Accountability, is out!  Learn more here:

My new research project, with Elizabeth DeBray (University of Georgia) and  Erica Frankenberg (Pennsylvania State University), how the 2007 U.S. Supreme Court decision on race-conscious K-12 student assignment has affected local policy and politics.  We just received funding from the Spencer Foundation to study the politics of diversity in eleven school districts.

Here’s my vita.

In Fall, 2011, I am teaching PUBP&A 601, Politics of the Policy Process, on Wednesday mornings.  If you aren’t a master’s student in Public Policy and Administration, please contact me for information on how to register.
