Recreation/Sports

Lion’s Den (month of December):

Every Tuesday: Children’s Ministry Day 4pm-6pm. Children grades 1- 6 come together for a time of encouragement, crafts, Bible story and meal at the LD.

Every Monday,Wednesday, and Friday!: Moxom Housing Development Outreach from 4pm-7pm. ADC prevention services working in conjunction with Springfield Housing Authority will oversee a youth development program to assist with Anti-bullying, homework assistance, martial arts, and leadership mentoring and development at the Lion’s Den.

Thursday: Off site Youth Night from 5:30-9pm. There is a youth night at Church in the Acres that will be overseen by LD Teens and CIA teens. Those teens interested will have the opportunity to learn about leadership, discipleship, mentoring, teaching, and planning from an adult team of workers. Every week additionally an invitation goes out to LD teens to attend a “youth group” and to participate in food, fun, and fellowship. There will be regular bus stops established from Indian Orchard to pick up youth from the greater Orchard Area.

Every Friday: LD Youth Night from 7-9pm! For 9-12 graders! Providing a special time at the Den for older teens. Play pool, pingpong, use computers, weight room work out or enjoy some clean, moral music while enjoying some great food!

Titans “Spring Training” 10-12 Year Old 2011 Baseball Classic
Location: Picknelly Field and other fields TBD
Date: April 2nd-10th
Age Group: 10-12 Years Old
Tournament Format: Two division A and B. Pool Play in each division/three games guaranteed. Pool Winners (and possibly a wildcard) advance to a single elimination Divisional Championship round
Team Limitations: 8 Teams (Maybe more if fields are available)
Awards: Team Tournament Champion, Runner-Up and Skills competition award. Trophy for team: champion and finalist.  Individual medals for players: champion and finalists.
Entry Fee: $250 and one game ball per game played

Age Group: 12-14 years Old

Springfield Technical Community College: Admission Events:

Nursing Info-Sessions: Due to the high volume of applications to their Nursing Major and the demand for information regarding gaining admission to the program, the College has scheduled informative Nursing Admission Info-Sessions. All students interested in Nursing are STRONGLY encouraged to attend one of these sessions. They will be held throughout the semester on the dates and times noted below in Building 20 / Room 310. There is no need to sign up – just show up. The upcoming dates are Thursday, November 10th and Thursday, December 8th. All sessions will start at 12:15pm.

Dental Hygiene Information Sessions: Due to the number of applications to their Dental Hygiene Program and the demand for information with regard to gaining admission to the program, the College has scheduled the following Dental Hygiene Admission Information Sessions for the upcoming 2011-2012 academic year.  All students interested in Dental Hygiene are encouraged to attend one of these sessions.  The sessions will be held on the dates and times noted below in the Student Success Center in Building 27. There is no need to sign up – just show up.
