The 35th Annual Conference of the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of New England (JLTANE) was held virtually via Zoom this year, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst Japanese Program, on June 4, 2022

The conference included a keynote address by Professor Atsushi Hasegawa in Japanese Language and Linguistics at the University of Hawai’i M?noa.

In Memoriam, Professor Chisato Kitagawa

The JLTANE organizers would like to remember UMass Emeritus Professor Chisato Kitagawa????????, who passed away in January of this year. He was long a key member of the UMass Japanese program and a generous teacher and mentor to many in the Five Colleges area and beyond.
