EVENT: Building a New Moodle Course
DATE: 6/10/2015
TIME: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
LOCATION: A210 LGRC

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of building a course Web site using Moodle. Instructors will be introduced to basic navigation,
learn how to configure course settings, and practice adding content and activities to a Moodle course. This workshop provides a good foundation for further exploration. PREREQUISITE: Must be a teacher or a TA with course-designer access in Moodle.

 

EVENT: Intro to Video Editing: Final Cut Pro X
DATE: 6/16/2015
TIME: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
LOCATION: A210 LGRC

This hands-on course teaches participants to perform basic editing functions while becoming familiar with the user interface. We start with basic video editing techniques
and work our way through some of the advanced features of FCP X.

 

EVENT: Intro to Video Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro
DATE: 6/18/2015
TIME: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
LOCATION: A210 LGRC

In this hands-on course participants get acquainted with the software main features and functions and learn how to import, edit and export finished videos. Participants
will also learn about most common audio and image quality improvements necessary to produce good quality video projects.

 

EVENT: Screencasting with Camtasia (Mac OS)
DATE: 6/23/2015
TIME: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Record a lecture presentation, narrated tutorial, or a software demonstration and then post the resulting “screencast” on your Moodle course or class website. In this hands-on workshop
we will use Camtasia. We will also discuss the different ways screencasting is being used to enhance classroom and online instruction.

 

EVENT: “IT Under the Trees”: Instagram
DATE: 6/25/2015
TIME: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
LOCATION: A210 LGRC

According to the Pew Research Center
53 percent of young adults ages 18-29 are using Instagram, a social photo and video-sharing application. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll cover the basics of Instagram,
and explore some of its uses in higher education. More importantly, we’re going to get out of the classroom and get some practice taking, transforming, and sharing pictures and videos. This is a rain or shine workshop. (Bring your umbrella if it’s raining.)
Prerequisite: Please have a mobile device that can take pictures and has an updated version of the Instagram app. Need help installing Instagram? Contact IT User Services: 413-545-9400 (8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., M-F).
