XLUM – Dillon

The Experimental Linguistics @ UMass lab looks at how adults process language, brings experimental techniques to bear on questions of linguistic representation, and looks at how language interfaces with other areas of cognition. Run by Brian Dillon, a range of methodologies are used in the XLUM lab, including self-paced reading, speed-accuracy trade-off, eye-tracking, and computational modeling. XLUM also hosts a blog with current events, discussion, and new work coming out of the phonetics, phonology and syntax labs in the Linguistics department.
