Welcome!

ICESL (suggested pronunciation: [ais?l]) supports interdisciplinary research that uses computational and experimental methods to study human language as a cognitive system. It provides small grants to help launch collaborative projects between members of the six departments represented in the institute, promotes research through meetings and internet resources, and facilitates multi-disciplinary student training.

Update Nov. 11, 2014: The activities of ICESL are now taking place as part of an expanded Cognitive Science initiative, which will hopefully lead to an Institute of Cognitive Science. This website is no longer being updated, and remains here for archival purposes only.
