American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) Fellowship for Native Americans May & June The fellowship amount is typically between $1000 and $5000 per academic year. Open to enrolled members of a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native group who are enrolled full time as a graduate student at an accredited institution in the U.S. with demonstrated financial need.
American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowship December 1 International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Boren Fellowships

 

January Provide up to $30,000 to support study of less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad. Fellowship recipients commit to working in the federal government for one year after graduation.
Carter G. Woodson Pre-Doctoral Fellowship December 1 Provides a $20,000 stipend for two years in residence at the University of Virginia for a scholar whose work focuses on Africa and/or the African Diaspora. Must have completed all requirements for the PhD except the dissertation.
Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program September Provides an $9,000 stipend for 12 weeks of work at an Academy in Washington, DC to learn more about policy or other non-academic work in STEM fields.
The Council of American Overseas Research Centers Deadlines vary by program Offers a number of doctoral and postdoctoral research fellowships to individuals working in targeted geographical regions.
Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad March 14 Provides grants for doctoral study in areas of the world not generally included in U.S. curricula. Projects focusing on Western Europe are not supported.

The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship December 11 Provides a $10,000 scholarship to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders in the field
Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans November 1 Provides support for up to two years of graduate study for immigrants or children of immigrants pursuing graduate education at a U.S. institution.
Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship in Health-Related Research (F31) April 13, August 13, December 13 annually Provides a stipend and funding for tuition and fees to enable promising predoctoral students to obtain individualized, mentored research training from outstanding faculty sponsors while conducting dissertation research.
Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (F31-Diversity) April 13, August 13, December 13 annually Provides a stipend and funding for tuition and fees to individuals with disabilities, or from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, or individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing advanced degrees in the biomedical, behavioral or clinical sciences.
Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid-of-Research March 15 and October 15 Provides grants of up to $1,000 to support graduate student research in science and engineering fields, including social sciences.
 

Switzer Foundation

January 8 Provides $10,000 Fellowships to highly talented graduate students in New England and California whose studies and career goals are directed toward environmental improvement and who clearly demonstrate leadership in their field.
