  1. It was awesome. I have seen several times in NYC and it was great to get reasonably prized tickets and parking was easy. I also had dinner at one of the suggested restaurants Bistro 63 which was also great. Loved the new movements as well.

  2. The Alvin Ailey Dance performance last night was fantastic. Each piece had such beautiful music and movement and costume. Ending with the historical and inspiring Revelations was the very best. Just wish we had been closer to see the beauty of the dancer’s bodies.

  3. The show was fabulous, even better than expected. However, the music during the second piece was much too loud. I loved the jazz but needed to keep my ears covered. The sound was then just fine. I have seen Alvin Ailey several times and enjoy them more each time. Thank you for the opportunity.

  4. I absolutely LOVED last night’s performance! Though the company has worked with a variety of different choreographers over the years since Judith Jamison’s departure, they have still been able to maintain the Ailey aesthetic: dance that represents the time. I also loved that despite many of the pieces African Diasporic elements, i.e., Ronald K. Brown’s “Open Door,” the choreography still read beautifully on all of the body types and ethnicities of the dancers. Thank you for a great closing to the 2016-17 Season!

  5. It was just phenomenal. The Alvin Ailey Dance Company never disappoints and indeed always surpasses my expectations. It is a great vehicle for promoting African American as well as the African diaspora culture. Loved it!!

  6. Thank you for having this superb dance troupe back. I hope for and look forward to their return again. Words do not adequately describe the quality of the performance and the transformative experience of combining music and movement. We loved it.

  7. Possibly the best piece of dance theater I have ever seen. It was wonderful, beautiful, provocative, evocative, awesome. What a treat to have them here at UMASS.

  8. SUPERB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to miss their last two appearances here, and was determined to attend this one, which surpassed all my expectations! Fabulous! Beautiful! Everything about it was wonderful! Thank you for bringing them here – and – you can never schedule them here too often – for the future!!!!

  9. Absolutely wonderful! Thanks so much for bringing this terrific company to the Valley.

  10. They are just the best! We have seen them over the years in NYC and Boston, and it is such a treat to see them here in Amherst. Also nice to see the kids in the front rows.
