The Fab Faux have been spoken of as “the greatest Beatles cover band — without the wigs,” by Rolling Stone senior editor, David Fricke, who wrote, “the Faux invigorate the artistry of even the Beatles’ most intricate studio masterpieces with top chops and Beatlemaniac glee. Approaching the songs with the intent of playing them live as accurately in musical reading and in spirit as possible, they will perform Abbey Road in its entirety, The Faux’s breathtaking performances tend to dispel all concert-goers’ previous notions of a Beatles tribute act. All five principals contribute vocals, making the Faux’s soaring harmonies as resonant as their multi-instrumental chops that are further enhanced by the four-piece Hogshead Horns (with Blues Brothers, Blood, Sweat & Tears and SNL band alums) and the Creme Tangerine Strings.

Join us as we celebrate the close of this season and offer a preview of the next season @ the FAC! Enjoy a pre-show dessert party on the plaza with free desserts, live entertainment and a cash bar. Tent opens at 6:30 p.m.

  1. Thank-you FAC for bringing the Fab Faux to the UMass Concert Hall. We would make seeing The Fab Faux an annual tradition if you booked them for next season.

  2. It was a Great show. My wife and I had a great time. It was very well done. I think this is as close as you will ever come to seeing the Beatles live.

  3. I loved this concert! This is a group of outstanding musicians who played outstanding Beatles music! A great show!
The only thing that detracted from it was the volume. It was WAY too loud to be comfortable and I finally left shortly before the end due to the physical discomfort. Otherwise, one of the best shows at the FAC.

  4. Great event in all ways. thank you for bringing this level of quality and art to UMass.

  5. I’ve seen these guys 6 times now..and every show is mesmerizing!!!
They are by far..the best Beatles cover band in the world!! Thanks for bringing them in!!

  6. What a great show! Tremendous energy and versatility. I hope they come back next year.

  7. A fabulous evening of music that took us right back to our growing up years. Most of this stuff was never written to be performed live…and this was one tight performance. All the instrumentation, all the nuance, all the lyrics……all there. Loved every minute of it!

  8. I’ve seen Fab Faux 6 times now…every show is mesmerizing!!They are by far, the best Beatles Tribute band in the world! Thanks for bringing them in!!

  9. This was my second time seeing this band (and my first time at this venue) and it was spectacular! The venue allowed me to enjoy the sounds of the great vocals and instruments. From parking, to seating, to the concert itself; the night was spot on!

  10. Enjoyed the show!! Would have loved more songs like the finale! Songs to dance to! Will be back!

  11. What a ball! I sang at full volume to every song and loved it. The musicians were so accomplished, and they played so many favorites. Fortunately the sound was loud enough to drown out my singing 😉 What a fab way to end another uplifting season of terrific shows. I’m already looking forward to next year’s lineup. Thank you for enriching the Valley with reliably high quality music, song, dance, and theater.

  12. I was thrilled to see Fab Faux at the Fine arts center last night. I thought they played the best show I have ever seen them do and I have seen several. These men really do us all an honor by performing the Beatles music so perfectly and in my judgement, respectfully. It’s clear they want to a great job. I think the venue was perfect. These guys obviously want to come back and I think we should make space for them to return next year and every year!

  13. Loved it! We were three generations — I was born in 1940, my oldest son Morriss in 1967, and my youngest son’s daughter Rachael in 1994. Can’t say which of us loved it the most — may the Beatles live forever! The Fab Faux do a fantastic job of being both the Beatles and themselves! And the Hogshead Horns and the Creme Tangerine Strings were wonderful additions. Would love to see them all again.

  14. Awesome show. Have seen the show at the Calvin, this was way above, would recommend it highly, fun night!!

  15. Fantastic concert! The timeless music of the Beatles combined with the outstanding musical talents of the Fab Faux resulted in one memorable night. Thank you to everyone involved with bringing the Fab Faux to UMass.

  16. Great concert. These guys do what the Beatles could not have done in a live performance circa 1969. Accurate delivery. I know these songs note by note and these guys were 99.99 spot on. I had a smile on my face for the whole concert. Thank you. Absolute magic.

  17. Fabulous show, haven’t had that much fun in a long time. It was like a dream come true seeing a band perform brillaintly the songs of my youth. I’ve seen the Fab Faux perform a number of times and admire them, but they gave it their all last night adding songs I’d never seen them do because YOU had them come with their entire Entourage including strings and horns. This kind of event takes a lot of planning and it was done to perfection. We enjoyed the band that played outside and the catering by the U Mass Kitchen Staff was exquisite. Thank you for a show that won’t be forgotten..and we didn’t have to go to New York to see it!

  18. We had a great time at the Fab Faux show last night. What an extraordinary experience it is to attend a show by these consummate musicians and vocalists. Thanks for bringing them to Amherst.

  19. The Fab Faux were outstanding! So talented and professional! My boyfriend who is a musician was beyond excited to be 2 rows from the stage! We will definitely make it a point to see this group again! This is the second fabulous show we have seen this year at the FAC, the other being the Cheiftains. We will be back for more.

  20. This was terrific!! They put on a really good show, great quality musicians, and of course, really reflected the originals!

  21. The Fab Faux did justice to the later and earlier Beatles songs with exact notes, sounds and nuances that I have never heard from any other tribute band.
They were fantastic and I would definitely pay to see them again, perhaps in the Mullins Center next time?

  22. I see the Fab Faux every time they come to the Northampton/Amherst area. Words alone cannot describe how they present Beatles music, particularly the music that was never presented live by the Beatles. Images such as Perlman playing a Beethoven violin concerto come to mind. Please, please, please bring them back every year. In particular, ask them to play Sgt. Pepper and the White Album.

  23. We drove almost 3 hours for an overnight stay to see the Fab Faux perform at the Fine Arts Center Saturday night.
We’re big fans and are used to their usual brand of excellence and authenticity when they play this wonderful music.
We loved the venue and the audience.
Best moment? Jack stopping the show when he sang Oh! Darling.
As a long time follower of the FF, I get such a kick seeing the reactions of those seeing them for the first time.
Like the Beatles sang: “I’d love to turn you on…”

  24. First time seeing this show and definitely would be back for an annual show. My 13-yr-old grandson really enjoyed also. The array of desserts was fantastic also—just needed warmer temps!
