  1. Wonderful! There are not enough superlatives to describe the joyous music and spirit at your concert at UMass! How could anyone sit still with the beautiful voices, instruments and the magic of drums! I was born in Liberia more than half a century ago, and the sound of drums is part of my soul! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  2. The concert was exquisite, the variety of instruments, the harmonizing, the amazing voices! I was wowed. Most notable — the way the cultural music I am familiar with was made stronger by the other musicians’ distinctly different cultural repertoire.

  3. one of the best performances i have had the pleasure of seeing at UMass. talanted performers offered a fantastic show of image, sound and emotion. may the waters of global unity continue to flow through these artists!

  4. As usual, the FAC has provided another excellent concert. My wife and I were looking forward to hearing the Nile Project and we were not disappointed. Yes, we danced in our seats, closed our eyes and let the music just take us on a journey. Hopefully, the Nile Project will grace the stage of the FAC soon.

  5. The Nile Project was simply outstanding. I wished the evening could have lasted forever! The blend of musicians, instruments, regional clothing and personalities was engaging and uplifting.

  6. On the evening of April 7th, I was lucky enough to attend a spectacular performance put on by the musical artists of the Nile Project. After filing into my seat and listening to the FAC’s opening remarks- the stage went dark and a lone performer took the stage with a bizarre and interesting square shaped string instrument. She began to play eloquent music and soon started to sing with an immeasurably powerful and soul filled voice. Slowly, as the opening song built more and more- performers took to the stage and began to join in the singing or play their own unique instruments. As the first song reached its height, I became quickly lost in the expertly orchestrated cacophony of tribal drum, song and sound overall. The lone performer had evolved into what I experienced as a many-layered organic machine- the full group rhythmically “driving” the opening song along. The audience was enthralled. I could tell the spectators wanted to clap to the beat, but didn’t yet understand how to follow the foreign sound. As the entire band, garbed in colorful traditional clothing played through their opening, I experienced a moment of euphoria, my physical head and my psyche felt as if they were “buzzing” with pleasure. I even seemed to feel my own chakra points gently hum and stir within my body- the music awakening a dormant spiritual side of myself. A friend who accompanied me to the show also claimed to have under gone a similar euphoric buzzing- the music breaching his cultural barriers as well. To have experienced such a profound and beautiful effect from listening to almost entirely unfamiliar music is to me an illustration of the universal nature of music.

  7. Yes, we danced! It was an incredible show with beautiful music and an inspiring message. Maybe music collaboration is the answer to world peace!
