In the wordless universe of Mummenschanz, the ordinary becomes extraordinary when common materials, everyday objects (like toilet paper) and colorful abstract shapes and forms spring to life. By creating a playful yet compelling experience, Mummenschanz offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.

  1. I was somewhat disappointed in the show. I found it curious to think about how they were doing the stunts, but didn’t find it terribly captivating. The minimalistic lighting made it very dark and without any sound effects at all I found myself, and the person I came with, nodding off quite a bit. The children in the audience seemed to enjoy it. For years I have wanted to see this show and was looking forward to it, but overall did not find it very memorable. I think I’ve seen better acts on America’s Got Talent.

  2. I really enjoyed Mummenschanz. We have not gone to the Chinese acrobats recent show because the last few times were almost exactly the same. The Mummenschanz show was excellent and imaginative. Even though we went last time they were here I do not remember exactly what they did. Perhaps you should not wait another 15 years, but that might also contribute to its great reception.

  3. Loved the show. Went with my 17 year old son and he loved it too. I laughed out loud many times and my son did too.

  4. I think Mummenschantz was innovative in the 1970’s, but doesn’t hold up today. At first, I felt compelled by the whimsy of the characters and virtuosity of the performers, but that quickly got old when the ideas didn’t develop and there was little to no narrative in each vignette.
