Engineers Without Borders is a student-run organization dedicated to helping local and international communities create sustainable, community-driven solutions in order to improve their quality of life. The chapter at the University of Massachusetts Amherst operates programs in Ghana and Kenya to help locals develop clean, reliable, and convenient water infrastructure projects. In addition, a local energy program is working in collaboration with the campus to develop solar projects.

Annual Auction & Social

This year’s Engineers Without Borders 7th Annual Auction and Social will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 6:30PM to 10:00PM. The event will once again be hosted by Gillian Haven and Jim Duda in the “Duda Barn” at 18 Harkness Road in Pelham, MA. Each year, this event is full of local professionals, sponsors, staff, friends, and students from UMass Amherst and Hampshire College. It’s always a fun, light atmosphere with appetizers, cash bar, informative presentations, and of course, live and silent auctions. Items being auctions include authentic handmade crafts from Kenya, local crafts and donations from surrounding businesses, and larger items such as donated vacation rentals. See the 2014 AUCTION CATALOGUE for a detailed list of this year’s items! The first silent auction closes at 8:00PM, so come early! RSVP to this year’s Auction!
