The People’s Daily (Ren Min Ri Bao), offered by Oriprobe, is on trial until March 5th, 2011. Coverage of China’s most authoritative newspaper goes back to 1946.

The Libraries have added a subscription to Zassuku Plus, an index of periodical articles published in Japanese. Coverage is from 1868 forwards and includes local periodicals and those published in former colonies. You will need a browser with Japanese character input and display capabilities.

Kodansha Encyclopedia of Japan covers art, culture, politics, government, economics and many other topics, providing data and essays. The trial is open through October 9th, 2008. For access, contact Sharon Domier, East Asian Studies Librarian, for a username and password.
