Dance Education DELRdi now on Trial

DELRdi, from the National Dance Education Organization, provides indexing of dance education literature and research from 1926 to the present including abstracts of theses, dissertations, journal articles, conference proceedings, etc. from 200+ different publications, more than 150 university dance programs, organizations and individuals. You can search by author, title, keyword and limit by document type, institution, date and more.

Libraries Now Subscribe to Rock’s Backpages

Rock’s Backpages covers the rock and roll music industry back to the 1950’s with reviews, interviews and articles. You can browse for content by artist, audio (of interviews), genre, publication or writer; or search by keyword.

Note: the Rock’s Backpages homepage has many prompts to subscribe. The UMass Amherst Libraries has a paid subscription for full access to the database; if you have a UMass Amherst NetId to login from off-campus, or you connect on-campus, you do not need an individual subscription.

Historical Digitized British Periodicals Added

The Libraries purchased British Periodicals, digitized collections of over 450 British periodicals published between the 17th and early 20th century covering literature, history, science, fine arts and social sciences. These collections are available on the ProQuest platform, and you can search by keyword; author; publication title, subject or editor; place of publication (including Belfast, Calcutta, Glasgow and New York, among others); document type (e.g. advertisement, obituary, poem, recipe) and more.

East German Films from UMass Amherst’s DEFA Film Library Now Available

The Libraries have purchased the streaming video collection of East German films curated by the Professor Barton Byg of the UMass Amherst Languages, Literatures & Cultures department. The DEFA Collection on the Kanopy platform contains over 100 films (and growing) made by East German filmmakers or about East Germany since 1946.
