Guide to Reference Added

The Libraries have a new subscription to Guide to Reference. Published by the American Library Association, this is a reference work of reference works. Reference librarians and subject experts have selected over 16,000 sources, print and electronic, free and fee-based. You can browse entries by subject area or type of resource, or search by keyword. Entries include citation information and abstract. If you create an account, you can keep your own notes and make lists.

Music Database Trials

RIPM includes the Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals (1850-1950) and the Online Archive of Music Periodicals Full-text (1805-1962) and offers music history and culture articles published in music periodicals from over 20 countries. Full-text articles are available from the Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals. This trial goes through October 13th, 2011.

Library Music Source has partial and complete scores from over 35,000 classical works. You can browse by instrument or composer, or conduct a keyword search. Scores can be downloaded or printed. This trial goes through October 15th, 2011.

Trial for Sustainability Watch

Sustainability Watch contains over 200 reports on topics such as electronic waste, water shortages, high-speed rail, advanced biofuels, etc. and gives best practices for environmental impact, business development, pollution prevention, corporate citizenship and more. You can browse or search by topic, publication, company, geography and NAICS/Industry.

New Trials for PsycTESTS and PsycTHERAPY

The Libraries now have trials to the American Psychological Association databases PsycTESTS and PsycTHERAPY. PsycTESTS has a summary, descriptive data and the full-text of psychological tests and measures of achievement and aptitude, intelligence, cognitive functioning, occupations, personality, and more. PsycTHERAPY is a database of streaming psychotherapy demonstration videos. You can search or browse by therapist, therapeutic approach, title, keyword and other details.

New Business Resource on Product Launches

Product Launch Analytics provides manufacturer, product information and market details for food and beverage, household, personal care, pet and animal feed, tobacco and other consumer products introduced in countries around the world. You can search by keyword, brand and product name, or browse by tag, category, distribution countries, ingredients, packaging, and much more. The database includes products released in the past 5 years.

New Source of U.S. Government Technical Reports

The TRAIL (Technical Report Archive and Image Library) database, a joint project of the Center for Research Libraries, the Greater Western Library Alliance and the University of Washington Libraries, includes full-text of U.S. government technical reports published before 1975. You can conduct a simple keyword search, or an advanced search for terms in the author, title, year, and issuing agency fields.
