I had my hesitations waking up early last Sunday to run the Hot Chocolate 5k in North Hampton. But let me tell you, it was all worth it!
There was an estimated 5000 people that ran in the race. They ranged from little children to old folk. What everyone had in common is that they got an aerobic workout in and they supported a great cause. Not to mention a delicious cup of hot chocolate at the end of the race. The entry fees and donations to the Hot Chocolate Run went to Safe Passage, the Hampshire County organization providing shelter, counseling, and advocacy services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence.
Whether you are competing to win the race or just out there socializing with friends doing a 5k gets the metabolizing moving and the calories burning! You also get the great feeling of accomplishing the race and helping out others in the process.
