New Majors Orientation!

Hi everybody! We hope your spring break was time well spent! If you’ve recently signed into the major, we strongly encourage going to the New Majors Orientation, this Tuesday from 12:30-2:30 in Thompson 620. There will be pizza! Please come and get information regarding requirements, planning for future semesters, study abroad, internships, 5-college courses, advising, sociology club, and much more! We hope to see you soon!

Thinking of Declaring Sociology?

Sociology is an awesome major!

If you are thinking about adding sociology as your major, keep in mind that you only have until March 16th to do so!

So if you think Sociology is the major for you, come on in to Thompson 722 and talk to a peer advisor!

If you just signed in to Sociology this semester, you need to attend the New Majors Orientation!

You’ll find out everything you need to know about the major, and get some advising!

Senior Sociology Majors: Registration Holds

If you are a rising senior (87 credits+ after this semester), there will be a registration hold on your SPIRE account. Seniors are required to sign up for a Senior Advising Appointment to check on requirements, encourage thinking about post-graduate plans, and connect students to University resources for graduating students.
Sessions will run approximately 30-40 minutes. Sign up for ONE session only.
If you do not attend one of these sessions, you WILL NOT be able to register for Spring courses on time. If you have a legitimate conflict and absolutely cannot make one of the 14 sessions available, please send an e-mail to advising@soc.umass.edu.
